How to reduce plagiarism in a paper

  1. 1

    Check similarity first

Run the check your school requires and find the flagged paragraphs in the report.

  2. 2

Submit the full text or flagged parts

Paste the text or upload a file; to change only flagged parts, paste just those paragraphs.

  3. 3

    Rewrite paragraph by paragraph

Synonyms, new word order and split or merged sentences, with no run of 8+ words matching the original.

  4. 4

    Review and re-check

Review each change in the editor, restore any paragraph with one sentence, then re-check on the same platform.

Lower similarity, same meaning

Wording and structure change; arguments, data and formatting do not.

Formatting and data stay as they are

Headings, figure captions, formulas, code, tables and the reference list are kept, along with citation markers, proper nouns and numbers in the text.

New wording, same meaning

Core arguments, facts, data and causal claims stay the same, with nothing added or removed and no change in how strongly claims are made.

Only what you want changed

Paste only the flagged paragraphs, or name a section in the workspace. Without instructions it rewrites the whole body text.

Every change can be reviewed and restored

Rewrites go straight into the original, and every change shows in the editor. Restore any paragraph with one sentence, or ask for a paragraph to be rewritten more thoroughly.

Watch a paper being rewritten

From selecting flagged paragraphs to restoring one of them, step by step in the workspace. The example is written to show the process.

In recent years, with the rapid development of internet technology, online learning has become an important part of higher education.Restored

Studies have shown that the engagement of online learners is influenced by multiple factors such as self-efficacy, teacher support and peer interaction [4].Self-efficacy, teacher support and peer interaction all shape how engaged online learners are [4].

Among them, self-efficacy has the most significant predictive effect on engagement (β = 0.42, p < 0.01).Of these, self-efficacy predicts engagement most strongly (β = 0.42, p < 0.01).

Struck-through text is removed; highlighted text is the rewrite.

More than swapping synonyms

Whole-paragraph rewrites that still read well

Each paragraph is restructured as a whole rather than word-by-word synonym swaps, so it still reads as coherent academic prose.

Works for English papers too

Set the output language to English and English papers are rewritten by the same rules, with terms, numbers and citations kept.

Rewrite, de-AI and polish in one place

After lowering similarity, keep going in the same workspace to lower the AI score or polish the same document.

Lower AI score

Acknowledged in published SCI papers

Published papers state in their acknowledgments or AI-use statements that Acadwrite was used to polish the language.

How does AI rewriting lower the similarity score?

Similarity checkers mainly flag strings that match existing sources word for word. Each paragraph is reworded and restructured to avoid runs of 8+ words matching the original, while arguments and data stay the same.

Will rewriting change what my paper says?

No. Core arguments, facts, data and causal claims stay the same, with nothing added or removed and no change in how strongly claims are made.

Are formulas, tables and references changed?

No. Headings, figure captions, formulas, code, tables and the reference list are kept, as are citation markers, proper nouns and numbers.

Can I rewrite only the flagged parts?

Yes. Paste only the flagged paragraphs, or submit the full text and tell it in the workspace which paragraphs or section to change.

Which similarity checkers does it work with?

It changes the text itself and does not depend on a particular checker. Re-check with the one your school requires, comparing the same scope before and after.

Can it rewrite English papers?

Yes. Set the output language to English and English papers are rewritten by the same rules, keeping terms, numbers and citations.

How is this different from lowering the AI score?

Rewriting targets text overlap with existing sources; lowering the AI score targets AIGC detection. Both can be done one after the other in the same workspace.

Do I still need to check the result?

We recommend reading it through. Every change shows in the editor, so you can fix any imprecise wording directly or restore the original with one sentence.

How much does it cost?

Sign-in is required. Rewriting runs in the workspace and is charged by tokens used, at 20 credits per million tokens. See the credits page for details.
